Compass Failures
Compass not healthy
The barometer reports that it is not working correctly, which is normally a symptom of a hardware failure.
Compass not calibrated
Compasses calibration has not been carried out.
Compass offsets too high
The offsets of the main compass exceed 500, possible Causes:
- Metallic objects are located too close to the compass.
Checking mag fields
The magnetic field detected in the area is 35% higher or lower than the expected value.
Details:
- Expected magnitude: 530
- Problematic range: > 874 or < 185
How to Resolve:
This issue often indicates that the compass calibration did not yield good offsets. Repeat the calibration process.
Compasses inconsistent
The internal and external compasses are pointing in different directions (with a difference of >45 degrees). This is usually because the external compass orientation (ie the COMPASS_ORIENT parameter) is set incorrectly.
